Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is typically done with very little lubrication and uses slow sustained pressure at specific angles. Deep tissue massage addresses areas in the body that typical massages often don't and has a much different feel than a normal Swedish massage. Many find deep tissue massage to be very relaxing and have a dramatic effect on relieving pain and areas of tension in the body.

Myofascial Massage/Fascial release

Myo (muscle) and fascial (connective tissue) therapy focuses on releasing adhesions and restrictions in the myofascial tissues and fascial tissue. Generally fascial and myofascial release methods use little or no lubricant in order to better (grab) the tissue and slowly release restrictions within the tissue.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is not so much a specific massage technique but rather an approach the is aimed to help athletes perform better, address sports related soft tissue injuries, and reduce soreness. Sports massage is great for anyone who works out regularly and wants to enhance their performance by increasing circulation, improving flexibility, and reducing inflammation caused by injured muscle fibers. Normally a combination of stretching, Swedish massage, active isolated stretching, PNF stretching, and trigger point therapy.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is a great massage for those looking to relax and reduce overall tension. Most of the strokes used during a Swedish massage feel good and promote relaxation while improving circulation and soothing the nervous system. Aromatherapy is used to aid in promoting relaxation and soothing sore muscles.

Structural Integration

Structural Integration is a form of hands on therapy that works toward balancing and organizing the fascial web that runs throughout the body. The techniques I use in my practice are based on several different structural integration methods. I generally use the hands on techniques in my sessions, although traditional structural integration practitioners usually offer some type of movement education and body awareness.

Orthopedic Manual Therapy

Orthopedic manual therapy or orthopedic massage is an outcome based soft tissue treatment which provides very specific work to correct musculoskeletal dysfunction. A typical session may include some assessment through palpation, postural analysis, and orthopedic testing. Treatment of the area may include joint mobilization techniques, stretching, myofascial massage, and trigger point work.
